E-cigs and Vaping...not as safe as one hoped

For the last few years, the popularity of e-cigs and vaping has been on the rise. I have had countless patients happily and proudly report they are quitting smoking now...they are starting to vape. My response has always been positive. I know quitting smoking is hard, but I was also hesitant to promote the alternative these patients were seeking.

As it turns out, studies are now being released confirming that these alternatives are not as safe as we had hoped. Damage to teeth, gums and lungs are still being seen. The fact is nicotine is not safe, and the pollutant effects of the flavorings are not very good either. To learn more check out this article on ScienceDaily.com:
